Latest deliveries!

So often I don't get a chance to photograph all the beautiful products that arrive before they get sent away to be enjoyed by the family that ordered them.
I managed to snap a few pics of some recent ones including a gorgeous canvas from this family's session - it's definately a favourite and already hanging in their home.

And a canvas of my boys to be enjoyed near their play room.
Larger than life - oh I love this!

And these stylish black and white prints, matted and framed. They will be hung as a set of four and will be such a wonderful keepsake for this family.

Stumbled across this!

Tonight, while I was glancing through my own personal photos, I stumble across this one taken a couple of months ago.
Something about it made me take a closer look - I love it for so many reasons.
I love the sun flare - that gorgeous glow in the distance reminding me of that late afternoon play in the park that day with my family.
I love Ethan's confident stance on the scooter.
I love the worn sneakers and the worn wheel - from practicing so much.
There is so much for me to love about this photo and nothing about the actual way it was taken.
It's so true that when I ask parents to choose their favourite's from a session, it's rarely the ones that I love.
They choose the photos that 'speak to them from the heart' and that's wonderful.
This one does it for me!

Paris' 16th fashion shoot party - PART 2

As promised, here is part 2 of the super cool party that was held at Paris' home to celebrate her 16th birthday party. Jess, her mum, had so many terrific ideas and set up a photo booth for the girls to grab their favourite prop and have some crazy fun in front of the camera.
Here are just a few from the day.

At the start of the party, I photographed each of the girls alone for 5 minutes - a private fashion shoot.
They were gorgeous - each one of them in their own way - and we had lots of laughs!
Thanks for making my job so easy - you girls were naturals!

And by the end of the photo shoot, we all headed out to the street to do some group shots.

How gorgeous are these girls!!! They look like they're straight out of a fashion magazine.

Thanks again for asking me to be part of the best 16th birthday party I've ever seen. It was so much fun to photograph you all - enjoy your photos and I'll have your private online gallery up in the coming week so you can see a whole lot more beautiful images.

paris' 16th birthday - fashion shoot party

I seriously have the coolest clients.
I was really looking forward to this party after meeting with Jessica (Paris' mum). She had so many wonderful ideas and was keen to follow up on anything I had to say to make her daughter's 16th birthday absolutely memorable ... and it was!
I arrived to be greeted by incredible attention to detail. I loved the vintage typewriter where the girls could type a birthday message for Paris - some had never used a real typewriter before. I also loved the adhesive chalk boards on the wall - one with the menu for the dinner party that evening. The candy bar was adorable, the table was set beautifully and the mocktail bar was fantastic.
Enjoy this sneak peek and be sure to drop by over the coming days to see how gorgeous each of the girls were in their mini fashion shoot with me.

Thanks so much for a great afternoon!

jordan's album

I've had quite a few album orders arriving these last few weeks and this was definately one I was extra keen to get my hands on.
You may recall Jordan's photo session not that long ago - take a look here.
This is a beautiful 10x10 leather covered album and the 20 sides are wonderfully thick and sturdy.
There are so many photos inside and I know it will be a great reminder of her fantastic day.

And I wanted to share a couple of photos of Peta - who was one of the many girls that attended the Pre-dinner party - doesn't she look incredible !
Makes me wish I was planning my School Formal again.

nick + vanessa + ashton + liam

I was in Melbourne last week and was so pleased to photograph Vanessa and her gorgeous family. She had booked the session a while back and although we have known each other through the internet for some time, we had never met. She was just as I expected - a really lovely and genuine person and her family were the same.
We met at a location that Vanessa chose and it was a glorious Melbourne winter day. The boys came with their favourite soft toy as well as a change of clothes and a child size sports car that had been given to them by their grandad - it was alot of fun.
Enjoy this handful of my favourite photos!

Nick and Vanessa, it's a credit to you for bringing up such beautiful and loving boys.
It was truly my pleasure to spend the afternoon with you and your family.
I hope these photos give you much joy.

Featured in Brisbane News

I have just returned from a few days in Melbourne and realised that I hadn't shared my exciting news about being featured in Brisbane News last week.
Brisbane News is a great weekly publication that is delivered to many of the inner city Brisbane homes andthe coolest retailers. It features the latest places to eat, art exhibitions, recipes from chefs, fashion etc as well as a page of Brisbane Weddings.
When Brisbane News contacted me to say they loved the photos of Stephen and Sandy on my blog, I was thrilled but even more thrilled when Stephen and Sandy were chosen to be the main feature photo along with journalling about how they met.
Of course I had to photograph it for all to see.

Thank you to Stephen and Sandy for making it all happen!

Something I've been thinking about!

A little while ago I started to think about all the families that I had photographed and wondered what they had done with the disc full of images that I had created for them from their session.
I know how exciting it is when you receive your disc and how lovely it is to recall the session, but just how many of us actually 'do' something with those images?
Some of us probably print some off for our Mums and Dads, maybe even upload some to our blogs or facebook, but who actually has something on show in their homes
to remind us every day of the reason we had the session in the first place?
Not many of us I'm sure.
So, I got to thinking and decided that my packages would include an album as an option.
Of course, the disc is still there but the album has been a huge hit and I'm so pleased to see so many clients loving the idea. It's a way to enjoy lots of photos from the session and they can be featured in a gorgeous hard covered and hard wearing album.
What I love best is that you can open the album and stand it on an easel
and enjoy a new page of images whenever you choose.
Here is the latest album that I created for the Clifton Family,
complete with a Custom Photo Cover that I know they will enjoy for years to come!

Enchanted Woodlands Party

If there is ever a special celebration in your life that needs incredible attention to detail, gorgeous styling and amazing imagination,
then you would be so fortunate to have Sharnel from Sharnel Dollar Designs style it for you.
Last year, some of my regular followers may recall an adorable party that she styled for her daughter's 5th birthday
... who could forget that candy bar that I photographed?
Well, this year certainly didn't disappoint and to say that I have been eagerly waiting to see it all come together, is an understatement.
One by one, six little girls arrived at the party and were given their very own hand made fairy costume to wear and keep. Olivia's brother, William, was dressed as the Woodlands Prince and looked perfect. There were two real live deer, Mistletoe and Chrissy, prancing across the property and the children were able to pat them as well as Pepper the bunny - it was beautiful.
They played with Fairy Tilly who danced and sprinkled magic fairy dust everywhere.
And when in was time to take a rest, the party continued under the pink petals that hung from the trees above their heads. They sat on toadstools and drank Dew Drops and Woodlands Fairy Punch. They ate Hedgehog Cupcakes and Shortbread Snails just to name a few of the treats.
Take some time to enjoy all the beautiful details, many made by Sharnel,
as well as the wonderful thought that went into make this day a
truly magical Enchanted Woodlands Party for Olivia who turned 6.

Thank you so much Sharnel for asking me to photograph this beautiful occasion for you and your family. I had a wonderful time and am in awe of your incredible talent.
